also have dreams I want to achieve with the national team. I want to be a regular starter for England and I believe I can be.”

Grealish, 25, who has signed a six-year deal with City, believes Pep Guardiola’s side can atone for their heartbreak in last season’s Champions League final where they were beaten 1-0 by Chelsea.

“The club were so close to winning it,” he said.

“That’s exactly why I’ve come here. The manager said it to me when I spoke. I look around the changing room and there is so much talent and depth and I fully believe we can win it this year. The depth in every position is absolutely crazy.”

Grealish admits the Champions League has been a hard watch because he was so desperate to play on that stage. Hearing tales of Chelsea’s Champions League heroics from John Terry have fuelled that desire even further.

JACK GREALISH has revealed that he had his own Lionel Messi moment and cried when he left Aston Villa for Manchester City in a record transfer.

“To be involved would dream come true.

“I remember speaking to [former assistant manager] John Terry at Villa and he said when you hear the Champions League anthem, there is nothing better.

“I can’t wait to play in it. Hopefully, we can go one step further than last year.”

Grealish believes he can crack England with City and he wants to be centre stage after his cameos at Euro 2020.

“I could name you six or seven reasons why I came here but, yes, theWorld Cup is one,” he said.

“I feel if I’m performing for City week-in week-out and playing in the Champions League and performing the way I can, it could set me up to have a brilliant future with the national team, to try and start in the World Cup and in the qualifiers.” be
