Coast to boast about

ABEACH in Yorkshire has been named one of the best in Europe. Generations of holidaymakers have had wonderful times on the epic stretch of sand at Filey, near Scarborough.

It is majestic yet serene, and now beachlovers from around the world may be inspired to beat a path to its surf. The Cornish resorts of St Ives and Perranporth also made the list, as did Bournemouth.

If the sun shines in the remaining days of summer, thousands of children will experience the joys of Britain’s great beaches and forge memories for a lifetime.
