WILL NETWORK TELEVISION SOON BE A THING OF THE PAST?

-

I GREW up watching TV but the only thing that I tune in for now is live sport and news (“Another 10 years for free to view channels”,August 18).

Network TV is done for, thanks mainly to the internet. Our kids never watch it, they are more interested in streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video.

They say why just watch something when you can interact with it?

Their attention spans are so short it’s a struggle for them to watch a TikTok video all the way to the end. Sandra Hughes,

DURING the lockdowns the television was my main link with the outside world.

I haven’t got Sky but my TV came equipped with all the Freeview channels and I watched them for hours every day and night.

It’s not an exaggeration to say that

I don’t know what I’d have done without telly.

I’ve got access to the internet and I like to read the news on my iPad but sometimes it’s nice to just sit back and be entertained. I love shows like Midsomer Murders and Poirot and ITV3 has them all. Jenny Woodsworth,
