Government’s priorities all wrong, look after our own
THIS country has thousands of its own people without housing, the NHS is struggling to cope and our roads are gridlocked. This small country is full.
We’ve let in at least 15,000 Syrians, thousands from across the Channel and are now considering 20,000 Afghans and maybe millions from Hong Kong (“‘Big-hearted’ Britain to take 20,000 refugees”, August 18).
Yet when it comes to our pensioners the Government does all it can to reduce their benefits and is scrabbling to find a way to cut their pension increases.
I honestly believe that this country will erupt in serious unrest within the next 30 years between different groups and religions. This Government needs to stop now and think about its priorities to its own people instead.
