Gunners close in on Odegaard signing

-

agreed a deal with Real yesterday. But the breakthrough did not come until the Madrid club made it clear that he was not in manager Carlo Ancelotti’s plans.

Odegaard faces a race against time to be available for Sunday’s clash at home to Chelsea, as Arsenal need to get him registered by midday tomorrow.

The Gunners will pay around £25m for keeper Ramsdale, above, although that could rise to around £30m with add-ons. Ramsdale has yet to agree personal terms, although that is not expected to be a problem, and he must pass a medical before the move is confirmed. Speaking ahead of their game against the Baggies, Blades manager Slavisa Jokanovic said: “Aaron is not ready for the game. He is not in the right state of mind and we preferred not to complicate things.” Arsenal are also keen to sell players, with the futures of Hector Bellerin and Eddie Nketiah up in the air.
