Biden : No one’s died
US President Joe Biden has sparked fury by saying “no one is being killed” in the chaos around Kabul airport – despite 12 deaths including a young girl in a stampede.
He said yesterday: “No one’s being killed right now. We got 1,200 out yesterday, a couple thousand today. And it’s increasing. We’re gonna get those people out.” Then he knocked on wood.
Mr Biden said he could not “recall” if his military chiefs had warned him to maintain a troop presence in Afghanistan. He also said he would have still pulled troops from Afghanistan without former president Donald Trump’s deal to do so.
Meanwhile, relatives of Marzia Rahmati, 14, who died in the stampede, released photos of her body.
