A senior moment of clarity about age
SENIOR moments aren’t just about embarrassing slip-ups – because key mental skills improve with age.
And this scientific finding could lead to better dementia and age-linked therapies.
A US study found long-practised skills like responding to new information and focusing on what is important in a given situation improve from our 50s onwards.
Professor Michael Ullman, of Georgetown University, said: “These results are amazing.
“They not only change our view of how ageing affects the mind, but may also lead to clinical improvements, including for patients with disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease.”
