The Poet Laureate Has Gone To His Shed
Poet Simon Armitage invites listeners into the wooden shed in the Pennine hills where he goes to write (at the moment, he’s working on haikus). He unfolds a garden chair and plumps up a plastic cushion for his guests, as they talk about writing, music, art and sherry, among other things.
The podcast is now in its second series and forthcoming guests include radio DJ Jo Wiley, TV’s Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen, and The Smiths’ Johnny Marr. He also chats to JK Rowling about the trinkets in her writing room and why she sometimes writes lying on the bathroom floor.
