We’re big-hearted, broke and our country is full up

I COULDN’T believe your front page story (“‘Big-hearted’ Britain to take 20,000 refugees”,August 18).

Here in Slough where we are already massively overcrowded, Slough Borough Council is bankrupt but is building on every square inch of land because of the so-called housing shortage.

No one asked us if we want more migrants to add to the 10,000 or so illegal “rubber boat” people that have arrived on our shores already this year.Where are they going to live and who is going to pay for it?
