McBride comes clean on cost rise

CLEANING products maker McBride has warned of price rises and shortages due to raw material costs and a lack of HGV drivers.

Just seven weeks into its financial year it also said profits will be 55 to 65 per cent lower than forecast.

Most of its business comes from store own-label products. McBride said it has agreed price rises with supermarkets but later than hoped.

AJ Bell investment director Russ Mould noted McBride had issued a “monster profit warning” about its 2022 figures ahead of its 2021 results next month.
