It has been great, hasn’t it? Apart from the fighting and arrests in Manchester. And the United supporters dropping a Turkish flag on Leeds fans at Old Trafford to taunt them over the murder of two fans 20 years ago and the singing of the Munich Air

Crash song by the Leeds supporters. And the homophobic chanting by Liverpool fans at Norwich. And the booing of the knee being taken pre-kick-off at Burnley and Millwall.

So much for the cultural reboot which was optimistically hoped for post-Covid.
