Harvey signs up for more glory at Foxes

- By James Nursey

HARVEY BARNES wants to help Leicester avoid more Champions League heartache after penning a bumper new deal.

Attacking ace Barnes has signed a four-year contract, which has rocketed his salary to nearly £100,000 a week. Barnes, right, has returned at the start of this season after picking up a knee injury in February, which needed two operations.

Brendan Rodgers’ men went on to win the FA Cup without him, but missed out on a top-four finish for a second successive season on the last day. Barnes, 23, said: “We’ve achieved some great things in the past few months. We’ve won the FA Cup and the Community Shield. “This year, we want to recreate that and go even further. There are a few things we’ve missed out on, but over the next few years we’re looking to achieve those things.

“To be a part of that is going to be great.”
