Business has nosedived
IT was one drop-off the driver of this delivery van had not anticipated – when their DPD vehicle tumbled down a canal bank into the water.
Rachel Shuttleworth came across the dramatic sight as she cycled alongside the Leeds and Liverpool waterway near Brierfield, Lancs.
The van was left partiallysubmerged while the unlucky driver, who was not seriously hurt, was rescued by firefighters and treated by paramedics. The vehicle, which had come off a road near a B&Q store, was later hauled out by recovery crews.
Salon owner Rachel, 40, of Nelson, Lancs, said she was out riding with her daughter Bryony, 14, when they spotted the white van, nose-down in the water.
But despite plunging into the canal, its windscreen wipers were still going, she added.
