Fred Olsen’s new flagship Bolette set sail on her maiden voyage, leaving her home port Dover last Monday, for a three-night scenic cruise around the Isles of Scilly and the Channel Islands.

Named after the great-great grandmother of company chairman, Fred Olsen Jnr, Bolette has been given an extensive and elegant refurb to bring on board the cruise line’s popular venues including the Morning Light pub, The Bookmark cafe and the Oriental tea room. Among the new additions are an all-weather pool, two-tiered theatre, the Auditorium and speciality restaurants Vasco, offering Indian cuisine with a modern take, and Colours & Tastes serving Asian fusion dishes.

And at 62,735 gross tonnage, with a total of just 690 cabins, Bolette continues to deliver the small boutique ship experience.

It has fewer than 1,400 guests on board, even at full capacity.
