Get moving with statues
A new guided walk around London will stir up the great debate currently surrounding our statues and monuments.
Sculpture Wars has been curated by Westminster guides David Harry and Frank Molloy, who also conduct the tours. It highlights tributes to Churchill and Lord Nelson, and takes in the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square.
The walk examines the meaning of memorials in public spaces and aims to show how controversy over iconic symbolism is not just a recent phenomenon.
It also takes in some of the capital’s most historic attractions, such as Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey. ■■The next scheduled walk is on Saturday August 28. 2021. Tickets £12, thelondonspy.com
