Davies: Georgia has taste for more now
DAME LAURA Davies has backed Georgia Hall to win a second AIG Women’s Open after the 2018 champion took a share of the halfway lead at Carnoustie.
Hall followed her opening 68 with a 69 to join American Mina Harigae at the top on seven under.
Four-time Major winner Davies, 57, also made the cut in her 41st appearance in the event after her 70.
The Solheim Cup legend, the only Englishwoman to win multiple Majors, said: “I don’t see Georgia backing down at all. She’s very straight off the tee.And when she putts well, it’s pretty spectacular.
“She won’t let anything upset her. She’ll hit a lot of fairways because that’s her game. And she knows how to win a Major championship now. She’s exactly where she wants to be.
“All she has about British Women’s Opens is good memories – and that counts for a lot.”
