CRESSIDA DICK SHOULD NEVER HAVE GOT TOP ROLE, LET ALONE BE ALLOWED TO STAY ON

HOW CAN Cressida Dick, one of the most incompetent, ineffectual Met Police Chiefs ever to have held office, get to demand that she keeps her job for another two years?

The reason this country’s in the mess it is is because so many people at the top are useless and those with the power to get rid of them are equally so.

In recent years, police forces – particularly the Met – have forgotten what policing is actually about. They’ve become so hamstrung by the woke culture and imagined hate crimes they no longer bother to fight REAL crime.

Now a group of influential victims of police corruption – including Baroness Doreen Lawrence and Lady Brittan – are demanding that Dick be kicked out. “We share a collective concern that the leadership of the Metropolitan Police Service will continue to act as if they are above the law!” they say.

In a letter to the PM, the group talks about systemic incompetence, including racial discrimination, corruption and the reckless and unjustifiable harassment of innocent people. And they’re right. When a police force doesn’t just allow, but facilitates the ruination of innocent people’s lives, when it covers up incompetence and corruption – it needs to be eviscerated. And it needs to start with Dick.

Her flaccid leadership has brought the Met into disrepute and has damaged public confidence in the police.

Dick was the Met’s first ever female police chief. At the time her appointment looked like a triumph for diversity but all it’s proved is that diversity for its own sake doesn’t work.

It should always be the best person who gets the job – and Cressida Dick was nowhere close to being the best.
