Film: The Take, Film4, 9pm
Action thriller starring Idris Elba and Richard Madden. CIA agent Sean Briar (Elba, above) is forced to join forces with Michael Mason (Madden), a pickpocket living in Paris after they become embroiled in an apparent terror attack where all is not as it seems. Briar recruits Mason to use his skills to help track down the source of the corruption. As a 24-hour thrill ride ensues, the duo discover they are both targets.
Documentary: Hunting The Essex Lorry Killers, BBC1, 9pm
This film reveals how Essex Police caught the people responsible for the deaths of 39 Vietnamese migrants found in the trailer of a lorry in 2019. It shows how detectives, including DI Michelle Stoten (left), cracked a multi-million-pound international smuggling ring, with its roots in a seemingly innocuous haulage business in Northern Ireland. The film also travels to Vietnam to meet the families of some of those who died.
Wildlife: India: Nature’s Wonderland, BBC4, 8pm
Part one of two. Wildlife expert Liz Bonnin, Slumdog Millionaire actress Freida Pinto and mountaineer Jon Gupta explore the hidden wonders of the natural world in India, a land where tigers dance and lions roam. Liz visits the Gir Forest, home to the world’s last Asiatic lions, where she gets to witness two females hunting, before watching elephants walking through a tea plantation. Freida meets a man who has dedicated his life to the Hoolock gibbon, India’s only ape, which starts the morning by singing. Jon climbs into the Himalayas and stops off at the town of Devprayag, to bathe in the sacred waters at a holy place where the River Ganges begins.
Music: Brian Johnson’s A Life On The Road, Sky Arts, 9pm
The AC/DC frontman hits the road to meet some of rock ’n’ roll’s biggest names to share stories about what life is really like on tour. Combining candid new interviews and performance archive, each episode provides a rare window into the lives of some of the biggest musical names. Brian begins with The Who’s lead singer Roger Daltrey (above, with Brian).
Technology: The Gadget Show, C5, 7pm
When it comes to tech, news there isn’t much The Gadget Show doesn’t know. Jon Bentley tests four of the latest electric cars and Craig Charles uncovers a new piece of technology that claims to aid weight loss and help people exercise more efficiently by using your own breath. Ortis Deley goes head-to-head with Jon as they find out if you can save by repairing broken and worn-out tech, and the enthusiastic Georgie Barrat (right) tackles another techie Top 5.
