Documentar­y: The Yorkshire Vet, C5, 8pm

This documentar­y series gives animal lovers a glimpse into the lives of veterinari­ans Peter Wright and Julian Norton as they tend to all creatures great and small. In tonight’s episode, Julian helps his friend and former colleague Katy with one of her sheep, which has developed a serious eye problem. Meanwhile, one of Peter’s oldest clients brings in her heavily pregnant, former Crufts prize-winner Maisie into the practice, and Matt and his fiancée Katherine are excited to adopt a puppy.

Travel: Miriam And Alan: Lost In Scotland, C4, 9.15pm

Actors Miriam Margolyes and Alan Cumming take off on a motorhome adventure to rediscover their Scottish roots. They start out in Glasgow, visiting the street where Miriam’s Jewish family first lived in Scotland, then travel north into the Highlands. Alan learns about his ancestral past at Cawdor Castle, they meet up with fellow actor Bill Paterson and stop off in Carnoustie, where things take a somber turn.

Cooking: The Great British Bake Off, C4, 8pm

The semi-final of Britain’s favourite culinary competitio­n will see the remaining amateur cooks compete in a variety of culinary challenges, hoping to be crowned best amateur baker. Judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith have dwindled the 12 bakers down to just four contestant­s, including Jürgen, Crystelle, Giuseppe and Chigs. With the penultimat­e round being patisserie week, the four are in for a technical challenge that will push their baking skills to the limit. Once again, participan­ts will also prepare a sweet treat using their own tried-andtested recipes and pull out all the stops to create an outstandin­g showcase of their talents.

Secret Life Of The Forest, C5, 7pm

Cameras capture the wildlife living in England’s most vast forest, Kielder in Northumber­land, including roe deer, red squirrels, pipistrell­e bats, otters, ospreys and more, as woodland changes occur throughout the seasons. It’s springtime, with the lengthenin­g days bringing a surge of life to this stunning wilderness. A rich collection of wildlife that has spent the winter hidden away or in warmer climes is ready to return.

Film: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, Film4, 6.40pm

Action-adventure starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and Woody Harrelson. Having survived two Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen is taken to the undergroun­d District 13. There she meets the rebel leader President Alma Coin who asks the inspiratio­nal Katniss to become a spearhead in their push against the might of the Capitol. A reluctant Katniss soon finds herself on a mission to save the nation.
