BANGLADESH captain Mominul Haque says his team-mates will go down in history after a shock first Test win against New Zealand.

The eight-wicket victory at Mount Maunganui was their first since 2018, when they beat West Indies on home soil.

The triumph over the world Test champions in their own backyard is one of the biggest upsets in Test history.

Mominul said: “Playing well collectively is the key to our success. This goes down in history for our country.”

Ebadot Hossain took 6-46 as the tourists dismissed New Zealand for 169 before knocking off the 42 runs for the loss of two wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
