Get the lowdown on park life from Haven experts Gareth at Golden Sands, Lincolnshire, Jamie at Greenacres, North Wales, and Kristie at Littlesea, Weymouth

-

Why do people choose to buy a Haven caravan?

Kristie: To spend more time with their family and to get away from the everyday.

Gareth: It brings people together. We’re all busy at home, but all of that just stops, and you can be together, relax and take a breath. Jamie: Why Haven? We’re a trusted brand with lots of experience, helping families for over 50 years.

What makes ownership special?

G: You can build new friendships, and enjoy a drink with your neighbours. The kids have friends here. It’s like you’re living two lives: one at home and one at the park.

J: I had a card from a family saying owning a caravan had enhanced their lives, and brought them closer at home as well. We’ve got another family here who’ve trusted us with same holiday experience that their parents and grandparents had.

How can I pick the perfect park for me?

J: Our team of experts know about all 38 of our parks, so can make recommendations to customers before they come to visit.

G: People make decisions based on lots of factors – the beach over the road is a big focus at our park, but it’s very flat here, so if you want to go and look at mountains, we’re not for you. There’s also location to consider – most owners choose a park within a two-hour drive.

K: With so many parks, Haven covers all bases: beach, woods, mountain views… We’ve got something for everyone.

Can friends and family visit?

K: Owners receive 10 Privilege Cards for named individuals for all the general facilities such as the pool, and the owner-exclusive ones, as well as a discount on restaurants, shops, bars and some activities. You can add more family members for a small extra cost.

Can we bring our dogs?

J: Dogs are welcome in the majority of our parks. It’s a doggy haven as well as a people haven!

Can I let my caravan out?

: Yes. Many owners do, and use the money towards their site fees.

: We’ve got some retired owners who let their caravan during school holidays, and families that let on off-peak dates. The beauty of it is that it’s flexible and tailored to how you plan to use your caravan.

If I let my caravan, can I leave my things between stays to save on packing?

G: If you let with Haven, your caravan will need to have crockery and cutlery etc – the team will explain what is needed. All personal belongings must be removed before letting out your caravan.

J: Owners can purchase storage areas for things they want to lock and pitch). Some caravans have built-in lockable storage too.

Can I stay all year round?

J: The parks close over the winter for maintenance, and caravans are drained down until the following season. The season varies by park.

Will I have to change my caravan after a set period?

K: There is no age limit on the caravan and no pressure to upgrade. But we do make it easy to upgrade to a different model. Each owner has a 12-year licence agreement, at the end of which you can opt to renew it. If you do choose to renew there’s no additional cost.

Do I own the land?

G: You won’t own your pitch, but site fees cover the cost of keeping the caravan in situ for the year.

What do site fees cover?

J: As well as the right to occupy the pitch, they cover use of facilities, entertainment, privileges such as discounts, plus on-site security, park maintenance, landscaping and help from park teams.
