Potter is a university challenge
UNIVERSITY students have been warned about reading a Harry Potter book.
JK Rowling’s first novel, Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone, is many children’s favourite book.
But English students at the University of Chester have been told to expect “difficult conversations about gender, race, sexuality, class, and identity”.
The warning has been branded over the top by critics, including Tory MP Andrew Bridgen.
But the university said it was there to inform students they can talk to tutors if they find anything “difficult because of its personal relevance”.
