Crayfish are back
RARE crayfish have been discovered at a reserve where they were thought to have died out.
The white-clawed crayfish was last seen at Winnall Moors, in Hampshire, in 1991.
Dr Ben Rushbrook, of the Hants and IOW Wildlife Trust, said: “Finding this cluster is incredibly exciting.”
Britain’s only native crayfish has declined by around 70 per cent since the 1970s.
