OPEN champion Collin Morikawa rued a poor finish to his Dubai Desert Classic first round.

Morikawa, who could replace Jon Rahm as world No.1 with a victory on Sunday, was sevenunder at one stage but bogeyed three of his last four to post an opening 68 at Emirates Golf Club.

That left him three shots behind clubhouse leader JB Hansen.
