Training will be Whyte up Fury’s street

MORECAMBE TRUMPS VEGAS

- By Chris McKenna

TYSON FURY claimed he will lock himself away from his family during his training camp for DillianWhyte.

The Body Snatcher finally signed the contract for the April 23 clash, likely to be staged atWembley Stadium.

But Express Sport understands there is still a major outstanding issue regarding tax which the WBC must rule on before the fight is official.

Fury, 33, is still pushing ahead with his preparations to face Whyte, right. The Gypsy King posted yesterday he will switch off his social media from now until after the fight, leaving his accounts in the hands of his team.

But the heavyweight is also set to see little of wife Paris and their six children during the eight-week camp.

Fury trained in LasVegas in the leadup to his wins over Deontay Wilder, Tom Schwarz and OttoWallin.

But ahead of his first fight in the UK since 2018, he is ready to have a full camp in his hometown of Morecambe.

Fury said: “I will not live at home during a camp, it’s impossible. When I am in training camp I don’t care if I am in York, Cork or Hong Kong. I will leave my house eight weeks out and have total tunnel vision.

“The weather is cold and hard but that’s how the Lancashire valleys breed its men.” Morecambe may be a world away from the bright lights of Vegas, but the WBC champion is happy.

He said: “It’s a northern seaside town, no glitz. Nobody could go skint in Morecambe because you only need about £150 to live there.”

Fury will bring in rising US star Jared Anderson, plus David Adeleye and Martin Bakole for sparring.

He has not fought in the UK since outpointing Francesco Pianeta and giving up his British Boxing Board of Control licence in favour of a Nevada State Athletic Commission one.

But promoter Frank Warren said: “It is no different to any foreign fighter coming here. It will be no problem.”
