Film: Angel Has Fallen, Film4, 9pm

Thriller starring Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman. Former Vice President Allan Trumbull has acceded to the Oval Office and recommends trusted Secret Service agent Mike Banning for a promotion. But when an assassinat­ion attempt leaves the president in a coma, Banning is accused of plotting the attack and goes on the run while trying to prove his innocence. Action thriller offering good bang-for-buck value.

Music: The Beatles: Eight Days A Week, Sky Arts, 9pm

The most scrutinise­d group in music history falls under the spotlight in Ron Howard’s documentar­y. Focusing on the period from 1962 – when Ringo first joined Paul, John and George in the line-up – to The Beatles’ final bow at San Francisco’s Candlestic­k Park in August 1966, the film captures all the excitement, antipathy and exhaustion of the band’s years on the road. Unseen fan-shot footage and some under-used newsreel bring a welcome freshness to those familiar career milestones. The input of surviving members Paul and Ringo reaffirms The Beatles’ bonds, while journalist Larry Kane recalls the dangers of being part of the touring entourage.

Documentar­y: Madeleine McCann: The Case Against Christian B, C5, 9pm

Mark Williams-Thomas, a detective-turnedinve­stigative journalist, carries out the first active British TV investigat­ion into Madeleine McCann “prime suspect” Christian B. He obtains an account from him and tests it against facts from the muchpublic­ised case. Madeleine disappeare­d on May 3, 2007, from her bed in a holiday apartment in Portugal.

History: England’s Forgotten Queen: The Life And Death Of Lady Jane Grey, BBC4, 9pm

Docudrama about the woman who reigned over the country for just nine days. It recounts the end of Jane’s reign, when she had been installed in the Tower of London, only for Mary Tudor’s forces to assemble ready for battle. When one of Jane’s backers defected to Mary’s side, taking thousands of supporters with them, the balance tipped and the men who installed her on the throne abandoned her.
