Shop massacre teen called for Mayor Khan to be killed in UK
A WHITE supremacist who shot 10 people dead in a racist attack on a US supermarket had called for London mayor Sadiq Khan to be killed in an evil rant before his murderous spree.
Teenager Payton Gendron apparently scrawled the n-word on his rifle before Saturday’s massacre at Tops Friendly store in Buffalo, New York.
The 18-year-old live-streamed the slaughter – in which
11 of the 13 people shot were black – just moments after publishing a horrific 180page manifesto.
The document centres on an absurd conspiracy theory, known as the “great replacement” in Far-right circles, to replace whites with immigrants.
Gendron refers to the UK in it and on page 165, under the heading “Kill Highprofile Enemies”, the twisted teenager lists Mr Khan as one of three targets.
He says: “Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London at the time of writing, an open sign of the disenfranchisement and ethnic replacement of the British people in the British isles.”
The other two targets listed were billionaire George Soros and Turkish leader Recep Erdogan.
Responding to the attack, twiceelected mayor and former Labour MP Mr Khan said: “The thoughts and prayers of London are with the people of Buffalo and all the families who have lost loved ones in this dreadful attack.
“Our diversity is our strength. Hate will never win.”
Last week Mr Khan spent five days in the US to try to boost the capital’s tourist industry.
Gunman Gendron opened fire in the Tops car park, killing three people and injuring a fourth at 2.30pm. Inside the store, an ex-Buffalo police officer working as a security guard tried to stop him. But his bullet could not pierce Gendron’s armour.
The teen shot him dead before working his way through the rest of the store. Buffalo police confronted the shooter, who at one point put his gun to his own neck before authorities were able to talk him into surrendering.
Gendron had driven 200 miles from his parents’ house in Conklin, New York, armed with a semiautomatic rifle, hunting rifle and shotgun.
He pleaded not guilty to murder in court hours after the attack. He broadcast the attack live on social media site Twitch via a bodycam. Twitch took down the channel two minutes after the violence started.
