Thank you for leading the fight against awful disease

AN EXTREMELY sad day after Dame Deborah James fought hard to the end but lost her fight for life (“‘Deborah was an inspirational, unfalteringly brave woman whose legacy will live on’”, June 30).

She was fitter than the average person, who maybe drinks, smokes or eats to excess.Why her?The fickle finger of fate.

We need to pay more attention to ourselves. May Dame Deborah’s unnecessary death not be in vain. Thank you Deborah.
