Green shoots at COP27

-

FAMOUSLY it was Bob Dylan who came up with the line, “you don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows”. In similar fashion, you don’t need to be a scientific expert to recognise the changes in our climate.

This summer’s extreme heatwave was a case in point. So it is only right that Rishi Sunak should be at the Cop27 Climate Change conference in Egypt – and not just observing proceedings but playing an active role by, for example, introducing a multi-million pound package for green tech innovation and clean energy investments.

The UK is also committing more than £150million to protect rain forests and natural habitats in key parts of the world.

We don’t need to be lectured by anyone about not taking climate change seriously. We are, by and large, a nation that loves and respects the natural world – and we always will be.
