Kids show the King he’s in with the Inns Crowd
THE King got a classy welcome to the Inns of Court yesterday from crowds of cheering schoolchildren.
The excited youngsters waved Union flags as Charles toured The Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn – one of the four professional barristers’ associations in central London.
As well as meeting pupils from the City Junior School, based within the Society’s grounds, he also toured the gardens, where staff gave him jars of honey, and met judges, barristers, students and a corgi.
King Charles, who holds the title of Royal Bencher at The Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn, was also presented with an Inn tie as a gift.
The monarch joked it was “the Inn thing” before adding: “Terribly helpful to have an extra one to choose from.”
