Kolo in frame for Latics

KOLO TOURE could be handed his big break in management by taking charge ofWigan – just days after his brother ruled himself out of contention.

Toure’s younger sibling, ex-Manchester City star Yaya, had been eyed byWigan for the post but he turned down the Championsh­ip club’s advances.

But former Arsenal defender Kolo, 41, has now emerged has the favoured candidate of the Latics board. He has completed his pro licence and has worked under Brendan Rodgers at both Celtic and Leicester, where he is currently first-team coach.

Wigan have been on the lookout for a manager since Leam Richardson was sacked earlier this month, just weeks after signing as new deal.

The Lancashire club are currently third from bottom of the table.
