RONALDO BANNED

- By Simon Mullock and David McDonnell

CRISTIANO Ronaldo has been fined £50,000 and banned for two games by the FA for knocking a fan’s mobile phone to the ground.

Ronaldo, right, whose contract has been terminated by Manchester United, was charged with ‘improper and/or violent’ conduct by the FA after the incident at Everton last April.

Chelsea and Newcastle have been linked with a move for the 37-yearold. The ban will transfer to domestic games at his next club – even if he leaves England. Ronaldo, who is preparing for Portugal’s World Cup opener against Ghana today, was cautioned by police.

He issued an apology on social media and invited the supporter to Old Trafford but it was declined.
