Walker set to get physical to cause shock
WALKER ZIMMERMAN, the USA defender, has warned Harry Kane and England that the Americans will use the biggest ever World Cup shock as their inspiration on Friday.
The 1950 finals in Brazil saw the mostly part-time USA win 1-0 against a celebrated Three Lions team that included Tom Finney, Alf Ramsey and Billy Wright.
It’s still the tournament’s greatest giantkilling, and Zimmerman, left, would love to upset the English again. He said: “I think it’s fair for them to believe that they will win the group – but it doesn’t always go according to form.
“It’s a really entertaining group, with lots of match-ups to still look forward to. I don’t think it’s gonna be easy for anyone, to be honest.
“I think that Americans really thrive on being the underdogs.” Zimmerman is certainly looking forward to giving Kane a rough ride.
He said: “It’s gonna be physical with Kane, for sure. It’s two big guys, going at it.
“Two ultra-competitive personalities. Kane is a big talent but I’m certainly not going to be backing down.”
