Child rapist’s 23 years of abuse ended by his own bragging online

- By paul Jeeves

A PROLIFIC paedophile who carried out “a campaign of rape” against young boys and girls for more than two decades has been jailed for 25 years.

Monster Christopher Manning, 38, committed his first offence in his mid-teens.

But his 23-year campaign of abuse ended when detectives caught him boasting online that he was “into young children”.

He also begged fellow abusers he met in chat rooms to send him videos of themselves attacking children as young as seven.

Manning was found guilty of 21 offences, including six counts of rape and three of making indecent images of children, following an 11-day trial at Lincoln Crown Court.

The jury heard his first victim was aged seven when she woke to find him raping her. The horrific abuse continued until she was 21.

Manning also repeatedly raped and sexually abused a boy for a decade. He used eight different private online networks in a bid to conceal his offending.

But specialist National Crime Agency investigators cracked an encrypted chat platform where he said he was “into” children and claimed he had repeatedly abused a girl aged four.

Manning was arrested by NCA officers, supported by Lincolnshire Police, at his Grantham home in February last year.

Jailing him yesterday, Judge Sjolin Knight told him his offending was “a campaign of rape” and said his online activity made her concerned about his interest in babies.

She added: “You take delight in abusing children and have done so since you were a child.” Manning was told he would serve another four years on licence when released.

The NCA’s David Levett said: “The impact of his criminality is utterly devastating. “He is a prolific and dangerous sexual offender who poses a grave risk to the public.”
