Come-to-bed dyes
INTERIOR styles trending this year run from exuberantly colourful to natural tones of bone white, terracotta and wood, so there’s something for everybody if you’re thinking of updating your bedroom. You can even combine the two using bright colours and intricate patterns for bedroom furniture and bed linen, set off by natural wooden floors and startling white walls.
Furniture giant DFS has beds with velvet-covered headboards and frames in every colour from magenta to sky blue to satisfy what it calls “The Pretty Opulent trend”.
However, its Calabasas ottoman storage beds run from a more sedate Duck Egg blue to Olive green to help create “the perfect balance between feminine interiors and refined opulence”.
Meanwhile, internet searches for Mediterranean or “beachy bedrooms” are soaring. Type it into Google and you’ll get a choice ranging from beachy master bedroom ideas to beachy family room ideas.
While the obvious solution might be azure blue and white walls with beach hut accessories, a more sophisticated style could be sun-bleached sandy or coral tones with stripped wood and rattan accessories such as headboards, chairs and lampshades.
And while you’re updating the look of your bedroom, is your mattress still comfortable enough to allow you a good night’s sleep?
South Korean brand Zinus has recently launched in the UK and not only offers easy-to-assemble beds at what it describes as “accessible prices” but also mattresses with green tea and charcoal infusions to help keep your mattress feeling fresh.
