Ex-staff ‘saw him mistreat women at White House’
TWO of Donald Trump’s former White House staff have accused him of sexual harassment, days after he was ordered to pay a victim nearly £4million.
Alyssa Farah Griffin and Stephanie Grisham say they witnessed numerous instances of “impropriety” when they worked in communications for Trump.
On Tuesday, a jury found Trump liable for sexually assaulting E Jean Carroll in 1996 and the writer was awarded $5million (£3.96million) in damages.
Responding on US TV, Farah Griffin, who quit as Trump’s communications director in 2020, said: “I have countless cases of what I considered impropriety in the White House that I brought to the chief of staff, as I thought the way he engaged with women was dangerous.”
She urged Republicans to “stop making apologies” for her former boss.
“We wanted to chalk it up to locker room talk in 2016 – it was not locker room talk,” the 33-year-old added, referring to the 2005 hot-mic recording of Trump talking about kissing and grabbing women “by the p **** ”.
Meanwhile, Grisham, 46, who was White House press secretary until 2020, said the billionaire often commented on women’s looks – but “with this one staffer, it was really bad to the point that I was extremely uncomfortable”.
She claimed he asked the employee to join trips abroad “when it wasn’t her turn”, adding: “I did everything I could to keep her off trips…I was really nervous about what could happen.
“One time [Trump] had one of my other deputies bring her back so they could ‘look at her a**’.”
Trump has so far not commented on the allegations.
