Jagger girl fined after holiday row
JADE Jagger left court yesterday after being fined £1,215 for resisting arrest and a minor wounding offence.
The daughter of Rolling Stone Mick Jagger struck a plea bargain deal with prosecutors following hours of negotiations between lawyers.
Jewellery designer Jade, 51, has also been ordered to pay £695 to a police officer she injured during a scuffle in Ibiza on Wednesday. Her boyfriend Anthony Hinkson, 31, was handed a fourmonth prison sentence after admitting assault.
But he left court a free man because jail terms of two years or under are normally suspended in Spain for first-time offenders.
Police did not formally name Jade or her boyfriend or release an official statement about the incident outside a trendy restaurant in Ibiza Town called La Oliva.
But a source said: “People at the restaurant including staff and a manager and a couple of customers told officers he had been aggressive towards them and they had refused to serve him any more drinks and he left.” Video footage showing the arrest of Mr Hinkson, who has been dating Jade for weeks, later emerged.
Witnesses said he had been behaving erratically before the row. Earlier yesterday, it was confirmed a police union had decided to prosecute the pair privately in an action running in parallel but separately from the state prosecution.
However, Judge Maria Luisa Bustillo’s ruling following a negotiated settlement means both prosecutions now end.
The ruling brought to an end a turbulent three days for divorced mum-of-three Jade and her lover. They were arrested around 9pm on Wednesday and questioned after a night in police cells.
They later spent around eight hours in court before being allowed to leave after admitting wrongdoing.
The female police officer hurt in the scuffle is said to have suffered a sprained wrist and is off work.
