HALLELUJAH! The police have finally grown a spine and got a grip on these lunatic Just Stop Oil extremists, dragging them off the road so the rest of us can get on with our daily lives without disruption. Whilst the Conservative government has been passing laws to stop the Just Stop Oil menace from blocking the roads,

Sir Keir Starmer and the Labour Party have not only voted against all of those laws, but they, unbelievably, have taken a whopping £1.4million in donations from Dale Vince’s company Ecotricity, who is a major funder of Just Stop Oil too.

Conveniently, what did Labour pledge to do this week? They said they would ban any new licenses for oil and gas production in the North Sea which just happens to be the demand of Just Stop Oil.

Are we really expected to believe that is sheer coincidence? Pull the other one. As Mrs Thatcher once said the problem with environmentalists is that they are like tomatoes... they start green and turn red. Only it will be us going into the red. Is it really possible that we could have a government in hock to this extremist law-breaking cult? Does nobody else find that scary?

Having our own energy sources of oil, gas helps to protect us from the vagaries of geopolitical instability, yet Labour wants us to throw all that away – haven’t they learnt anything from the devastating effects of the Russia/Ukraine war and the importance of energy security? Clearly not. It seems they would sooner destroy our gas and oil sector in the name of being green, while transporting it to us from other countries around the world, with all the carbon footprint that entails.

Into the bargain it would destroy many jobs and throw away billions of pounds of tax revenue. It is totally bonkers.

It makes me laugh that the Labour Party, the first to scream about business ties and links to government, are up to their armpits in this kind of relationship – and that’s before we get in to their financial control by the trades unions.

Angela Rayner, left, always the first to take a pop, has received donations from Dale Vince too.

You would be forgiven for thinking the lunatics are running the asylum, but the truly worrying thing is that those same lunatics could soon be running the country.
