Take a step back to fitness

-

WHEN you can’t walk the world just passes you by – so you can imagine what that’s like if walking is your job too. Paul Goddard is a Nordic walking instructor who was slowly grinding to a halt. “I became an instructor in 2009 and have been walking 40 to 50 miles a week,” says Paul, 66.

“Two years ago it became very uncomfortable to walk distances that should have been easy for someone of my age and fitness levels. I felt apprehensive as walking is not only my passion, but my business.”

Now Paul, from Saffron Walden in Essex, has a new-found spring in his step, swearing by a supplement called Turmeric+ as a means of keeping him fit and active.

It all started when he was researching what might turn things around. He says: “I learned that turmeric could be helpful and tried some supplements, then stumbled upon Turmeric+.”

It’s impossible for the body to get enough turmeric – the yellow curry spice – from food alone. And curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, is difficult for the body to absorb naturally. While some turmeric products offer high levels of curcumin they make little difference as they cannot be easily absorbed.

The need for easy absorption led scientists at leading supplement company FutureYou Cambridge to create Turmeric+ using a patented curcuma-phospholipid complex formulation.

This makes the one-a-day tablets 30 times more absorbable than turmeric powder. They also contain vitamin C and D which contributes to collagen formation for the function of cartilage, as well as the maintenance of bones and muscle.

Turmeric+ quickly had Paul walking tall again. “Soon after taking it I experienced that light-bulb moment, realising my knees felt like they used to,” he says.

“I take Turmeric+ religiously now – I walk 200 miles a month and even my customers have remarked on my mobility.

“Walking is great for fitness, as well as your mental health. Being able to walk easily has made a huge difference to my life and I feel fitter now than I did 20 years ago.”

Walking is one of the most beneficial forms of exercise, and also one of the most underestimated in terms of wellbeing. It’s a great way to reach the recommended level of physical activity needed to stay healthy without its toll on joints, ligaments and muscles from more demanding sports.

Adam Cleevely, chair of FutureYou Cambridge, says: “We want to support more people to get active and we think Turmeric+ can play an important role in that journey. We have tens of thousands of happy Turmeric+ subscribers who regularly tell us about their positive stories, just like Paul.”
