Cycling home after a gig, aspiring musician Jack is involved in a horrific collision with a bus during a mysterious power cut. He wakes up to find himself in a world where nobody has ever heard of The Beatles, so takes advantage of this by passing their songs off as his own. Success soon comes his way, but it threatens to come between him and his manager and best friend, Ellie. Fantasy comedy from writer Richard Curtis and directed by Danny Boyle. From a star who labelled his character “a selfish parasite” to another who almost refused to bow in front of Queen Elizabeth II, we take a look behind the scenes at beloved 1970s UK comedy, The Good Life. The programme exposes the secrets of the cast’s off-screen friendship­s, including personal scandals and a dinner party that nearly ended in disaster.

Surburban couple Max and Annie hold regular games nights for their friends, but often find themselves upstaged by Max’s overbearin­g brother, who invites the group to his murder mystery party. However, the fun turns to fear and chaos when the evening proves far more dangerous than expected and the host is unexpected­ly kidnapped by gangsters.
