‘Well-endowed’ teacher’s glitter protest brag

- By Max Parry

A RETIRED teacher bragged of her “cunning plan” of stashing glitter between her “well endowed” breasts to halt Wimbledon.

Deborah Wilde, 68, spoke of her exploits on the tournament’s third day at a meeting of Just Stop Oil fanatics infiltrated by an undercover Express reporter.

She boasted of rushing on to Court 18 with alleged accomplice Simon Milner-Edwards, 66, to halt Grigor Dimitrov and Sho Shimabukuro’s first round-match.

The climate zealot, who let slip during the meeting that her cousin worked in the oil industry in Aberdeenshire and that her daughter “has to have her little holidays”, also told of her favourable treatment from Wimbledon security and police when led off the court.

She said: “There were a few people swearing at me but the main guard who escorted me down and the police were quite protective of us, very protective of us.

“They still arrested me and took away my freedom but, when a police officer opened up the van, he goes, ‘No problem, we think you’re beautiful, JSO.’ ”

Wilde was hailed as “famous” by fellow eco zealots as she recounted how she pulled off the stunt armed with orange “glitter” and Wimbledon-themed jigsaw puzzle pieces.

She said: “They [Wimbledon organisers] had no idea what we were going to do, and we bought the jigsaws inside.

“So that is why they’ve banned them now from the shop.”

She was asked by leading activist Willow how she smuggled the JSO-themed glitter into the venue.

Wilde pointed to her chest and said: “Let’s just say I’m rather well endowed.”

The eco-warrior added: “It was great but we had to wait two days and we had no sleep because you have to queue up at four in the morning on the first day.”

To avoid being spotted by security she kept her “hat down because there’s that film of me and that, and because of the marches.

“I had my glasses and my hat on and then we went into the toilets and put the glitter in [the jigsaw box] and then took all of our layers off and then zipped up over Just Stop Oil T-shirts.

“So there’s the cunning plan.”

The protesters have been charged with aggravated trespass and are on bail.
