Dancing On Ice plans put on hold

- By Robert Kellaway

HOLLY Willoughby is being protected around the clock after an alleged plot to kidnap and murder her.

The TV host, 42, has taken the measures to ensure her own and her family’s safety after the recent ordeal.

Now she is determined to protect herself, her TV producer husband Dan Baldwin, 48, and their three children Harry, 14, Belle, 12, and Chester, nine.

The family conducted a security review after an alleged plan to abduct

and kill her was foiled by police.

She quit ITV’s This Morning last week after 14 years and cancelled her holiday to Portugal as she was said to be too scared to leave the house.

She shelved plans to spend her children’s October half-term at her home in the Algarve to ensure their safety. She has also put her plans to present ITV’s Dancing On Ice on hold while she assesses the situation.

The skating show is already facing upheaval after her regular co-host Phillip Schofield, 61, stepped down from all of his ITV jobs after admitting an affair with a colleague.

TV bosses have assured the presenter there is “zero pressure” for her to be ready for that upcoming reality series in January.

The channel has stated it is ready to support Holly staying on leave “as long as she needs”.

A source said: “Work begins on Dancing On Ice in December with promos but nobody wants to place unrealistic expectations on Holly and have her feel that she needs to rush back.”

A spokeswoman for Holly refused to discuss the family’s security arrangements.

Security guard Gavin Plumb, 36, of Harlow, Essex, has been charged with incitement to kidnap and conspiracy to murder.

Holly co-presented This Morning from 2009, and Dancing On Ice from 2006 to 2011 and then from 2018.
