EFL CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND-UP

-

LEEDS went double Dutch as they stretched their unbeaten run to 10 games with a magnificent seventh Championship triumph as they thrashed Swansea 4-0.

Crysencio Summerville, right, beat Carl Rushworth to open the scoring with a close-range shot that took a wicked deflection off Jay Fulton.

Fellow Dutchman Joel Piroe then rounded off a sweeping move by firing a fierce shot through Rushworth’s grasp. Things got worse for the home side when Wilf Gnonto scored a third just before the break – and he added a fourth in the 72nd minute.

Leeds moved up to second as they leapfrogged Southampton, who suffered a shock 3-1 defeat by Bristol City.

Sam Bell, Rob Dickie and Harry Cornick scored the Robins’ second-half goals to bring the Saints’ 25-game unbeaten run to an end, with Adam Armstrong scoring a late consolation.

Gabriel Sara and Christian Fassnacht sealed a 4-2 win for Norwich over Watford.

Ashley Barnes headed the Canaries in front and Josh Sargent doubled the lead eight minutes later from the rebound after his penalty was saved. Watford hit back three minutes before the break with a Mileta Rajovic tap-in and were level when substitute Yaser Asprilla smashed a 30-yard screamer in off the woodwork, before Sara and Fassnacht struck.

Birmingham ended a dismal run of three straight defeats as they beat Blackburn 1-0 to scupper John Eustace’s revenge bid.

The home side missed a handful of good chances before Andre Dozzell grabbed a 77th-minute winner to hand Eustace, axed by Blues in October, defeat in his first game as Blackburn manager.

Noah Ohio stepped off the bench to reignite Hull’s promotion bid with a 2-1 win to send Rotherham closer to relegation.

The Dutch striker hit a clinical 75th-minute winner just four minutes after a Cameron Humphreys-Grant own-goal had drawn the Tigers level.

Rotherham fought doggedly after Christ Tiehi’s deflected 20-yard opener in the fourth minute.
