Majestic Joely’s the queen of Georgian glam
JOELY Richardson looks every inch the daughter of acting royalty as she has a purple reign in a dazzling photoshoot.
The Nip/Tuck and Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star models an array of beautiful Georgian-style gowns as her eight-part drama Renegade Nell is about to hit screens. However, Joely, 59, whose parents are Dame Vanessa Redgrave and the late director Tony Richardson, reveals there is nothing remotely blue-blooded about her existence.
The divorced mum-of-one, 59, says she is most happy walking her dogs across muddy fields or pottering around in the garden.
Outlaw
And despite a “colourful and adventurous time” in the realm of romance, she has still not said “I do” again. She told Tatler magazine: “I have not yet been able to sign on the dotted line since my first marriage. I’ve been asked, but it just never felt right. I was seeing someone for the last few years, but we split last summer.” Meanwhile, mum Dame Vanessa, 87, is still the person she calls for advice. She said: “We talk about everything and also drive each other mad in the way that mothers and daughters do.” She added: “I feel very lucky in my life. I’ve had big heartbreaks, like most people, but I have big love in my life. I feel loved and I love back.” In Disney+ 18th-century drama Renegade Nell, out on March 29, Joely plays a woman framed for murder and forced to become a notorious outlaw. She is now shooting season two of Apple TV+ thriller Surface and will next be seen on March 7 in the Netflix TV spin-off of 2019 film The Gentlemen.
