Bodies found in hunt for missing TV host and partner

- By Mark Reynolds

POLICE have discovered two bodies in the hunt for a missing Australian TV host and his boyfriend.

The bodies of Jesse Baird, 26, and flight attendant Luke Davies, 29, were found at a home in Bungonia, two hours south of Sydney, yesterday morning.

Beaumont Lamarre-Condon, a police officer who once dated Channel 10 presenter Mr Baird, was earlier charged with the pair’s murders.

Det Supt Daniel Doherty, of New South Wales Police, said bodies were found near the entrance to the property and attempts had been made to cover them with rock and debris.

Police believe that the couple were killed at Mr Baird’s home and the bodies were later moved in a van.

Investigators found a bullet at the property last week, along with a “significant” amount of blood and upturned furniture.

Tributes

Lamarre-Condon, 28, appeared in court last week and was remanded in custody.

The former celebrity blogger joined the police in 2019, according to reports.

The case, which has made headlines across the world, has led organisers of Sydney’s iconic Mardi Gras parade to “uninvite” New South Wales Police from this year’s march.

Meanwhile, tributes have poured in for Mr Baird, a former showbusiness reporter, and Mr Davies, who was a cabin crew member for Australian airline Qantas. New South Wales Police commissioner, Karen Webb, said yesterday: “We are very confident that we have located Luke and Jesse.

“Jesse and Luke were very much an active part of the community and I look at their photos online and know they had a great life.”
