Pets: The Dog House, More4, 6.55pm

The penultimat­e episode of this heartwarmi­ng series, following a dedicated team including vets, handlers, behaviour specialist­s and volunteers at Woodgreen animal rescue – and their tireless work, rehoming pets with loving new families. Every dog at the centre hopes to find their forever home and tonight the centre gets a visit from former Olympic cyclist Victoria Pendleton (left), on the lookout for a dog. But will it be puppy love when she meets Rhodesian ridgeback Leilo, despite Leilo’s long-term medical needs? Also tonight, Shai and Orin are trying to hit it off with Polo the lurcher, and beagle Zoe meets the Forristal family.

Finance: Shop Smart, Save Money, C5, 7pm

The cash-saving advice show is back for a second season. Presenter Gaby Roslin joins the team and, together with Ortis Deley, reveals various ways to get the best shopping deals. Tonight they look into keeping the cost of cinema visits down – including how to find cheap tickets, or even recreate the big-screen experience at home. Meanwhile, Jon Bentley (left) investigat­es which type of dishwasher offers best value and Harry Wallop talks about home insurance.

History: Rise Of The Nazis, BBC4, 9pm

First of a three-part documentar­y series, focusing on Adolf Hitler’s rule, and the Eastern Front – often seen as a key area of conflict of the Second World War. During the autumn of 1940, Adolf Hitler is considerin­g his next move regarding the Soviet Union. He offers a land deal to its dictator Joseph Stalin, in exchange for support in the war against Britain – but Hitler secretly has the USSR in his sights too.

Sport: Match Of The Day Live: The FA Cup, BBC1, 7.30pm

Another exciting fifthround match awaits, this time between Nottingham Forest and Manchester United. The Red Devils will want to get even with Forest, after losing 2-1 to their hosts in their Premier League clash at the end of December – and both teams will be pushing hard for the chance to go through and attempt to claim some silverware this season. Gary Lineker (right) presents live coverage from the City Ground with kick-off at 7.45pm.

Film: The Father, Film4, 9pm

Oscar-winners Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman (above) deliver an absorbing and heart-rending psychologi­cal drama. Hopkins plays Anthony, an 80-year-old living with increasing­ly debilitati­ng dementia, and Colman is Anne, his concerned daughter. Tension builds as Anthony suspects those around him have evil intent. Also stars Imogen Poots, Rufus Sewell, Olivia Williams and Mark Gatiss.
