Kate eases back into job by working from home
THE Princess of Wales is working on her early-years project from home as she prepares to return to royal duties after Easter.
Kate, 42, has been staying in touch with her Royal Foundation’s Centre for Early Childhood, seen as her “life’s work”, which yesterday published positive findings on a trial of a baby observation tool she launched in June.
Kensington Palace said: “The Princess has been kept updated throughout the process.”
The mum of three has been recovering at home in Windsor since returning from the London Clinic, which is investigating three members of staff suspected of trying to access her medical records.
This alleged security breach is understood to have taken place since Kate left the hospital after abdominal surgery in January.
The King was also at the hospital in Marylebone, Central London, at the same time for a corrective procedure on an enlarged prostate, but his private medical data was not accessed. Health minister Dame Andrea Leadsom yesterday said: “Every patient has the right to their privacy.” The Information Commissioner’s Office has reminded all healthcare organisations about the importance of keeping patient data secure.
Stephen Bonner of the ICO said data breaches in healthcare settings were rare, but stressed the need for sensitive information to be “treated with the utmost care and security”.
The Archbishop of Canterbury yesterday hit out over speculation about Kate’s health. Justin Welby told Times Radio: “People should be allowed to be ill in peace without people demanding they prove something every other day. It’s just old-fashioned village gossip. Gossiping in that way is wrong.”
