Geri and Christian ride out text message scandal
GERI and Christian Horner put on a public show of unity during a point-to-point meeting this weekend – seemingly keen to prove they are in the final furlong of the text message scandal that rocked Formula One.
The former Spice Girl and her Red Bull team chief husband were glued to each other during their date at Kimblewick Races near their family home in Buckinghamshire.
Geri, 51, wearing a white jumper and trousers with a green leather gilet and wellingtons, yelled and clapped as her horse Lift Me Up – named after her hit single – came in first place.
Keen to miss none of the action, she made good use of her binoculars and even took a selfie with one of the horses.
Also gesticulating wildly and smiling broadly was her husband of nearly nine years, who was casually dressed in a navy gilet, checked shirt and jeans.
The scene of domestic bliss, which saw them walking hand-inhand between Saturday’s races, counters recent claims of their marriage being in “turmoil” over allegations by a female employee on Christian’s Red Bull team.
He has consistently denied any wrongdoing and was cleared by Red Bull over accusations of inappropriate behaviour.
Meanwhile, his unnamed accuser was suspended from her job at the team’s HQ in Milton Keynes on March 7 and has lodged a complaint against him with the sport’s ruling body. Christian, 50, was allowed to continue in his role as Red Bull Racing team principal while the investigation was ongoing.
He is expected to be seen again on Sunday at the Japan Grand Prix in Suzuka. He has previously said he wants to move on from the scandal and has had the backing of his singer wife.
The couple married in 2015 in Woburn, Bedfordshire, and have a seven-year-old son called Monty.
After the allegations became public, they were seen together in public at the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 2 and in Saudi Arabia a week later. The weekend horse meet was at Kimble, Bucks.
