Schofield’s puppy love in birthday stroll with wife
PHILLIP Schofield and wife Stephanie Lowe step out clutching matching puppies on the former This Morning host’s 62nd birthday.
Their stroll in London came just days after the couple’s 31st wedding anniversary on Friday.
It was the first time in months the ex-ITV star has been seen in public with Stephanie, 60, who he married in 1993.
In February he was seen out for a walk with his daughter Molly, but he has mostly kept a low profile since quitting TV last year.
The couple separated when Schofield admitted having had a relationship with a runner from This Morning.
He said in a statement at the time: “I did have a consensual on-off relationship with a younger male colleague at This Morning.
“Contrary to speculation, whilst I met the man when he was a teenager and was asked to help him to get into television, it was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than just a friendship.
“That relationship was unwise, but not illegal. It is now over.”
In an interview with Amol Rajan in June last year, Schofield said his relationship with Stephanie was not “brilliant right now”, but hinted they could repair it as he flashed his wedding ring. He added in the BBC interview: “I had a wonderful marriage, have a wonderful marriage [waves his wedding ring], although it’s not brilliant right now, with an incredibly supportive wife and two wonderful children.”
Host Amol noted that the couple were at that time separated, to which Schofield responded: “We are separated but we are very much together.”
