Drama: The Twelve, ITV1, 9pm

It’s episode three of this gripping courtroom drama and the Crown calls Claire’s best friend, Amita, to the stand. Bloom suggests Kate was grooming Claire while using her as her muse, but Colby’s cross examinatio­n paints Kate as a caring aunt. The Defence again throws suspicion onto Nathan, as it is revealed a dramatic argument took place the night Claire went missing. Meanwhile, Jarrod struggles to deal with the brutality of his arrest and submits an important essay late. Alexi is plagued by his decision following a workplace accident and Garry is faced with the new task of having to ensure the jurors deliver a “not guilty” verdict. Stars Sam Neill (left).

Cooking: MasterChef, BBC1, 8pm

John Torode and Gregg Wallace task the six contenders with taking an everyday ingredient from ‘basic to brilliant’. The two who can wow the judges most with their efforts whizz straight through to the next round, while the four others are each given quail and tasked to turn them into a dish that sets the judges’ pulses racing. Former contenders Simon Wood (left), Tony Rodd and Shelina Permalloo are on hand as the quartet prepare their best two-course menu for the judges and guests.

Film: Julius Caesar, BBC4, 10.40pm

Between A Streetcar Named Desire and his Oscarwinni­ng performanc­e in On the Waterfront, Marlon Brando (above) daringly took on the role of Mark Antony, in what was to become possibly the finest cinematic version of any of Shakespear­e’s plays. It’s 44 BC and Caesar, having returned to Rome after defeating Pompey in the Civil War, has been elected Dictator for life. Also stars James Mason.

Reality: The Apprentice, BBC1, 9pm

The final five candidates face the interview phase in which they are interrogat­ed on their CVs and business plans by Alan Sugar’s business associates. There’s tears, turmoil and tough talking as the candidates battle to back their ideas and statements. However, a dive into their proposals reveals fictitious figures, crazy concepts and absurd ambitions, and for at least one hopeful it’s the end of the road.

Factual: Alexander McQueen: A Life In Ten Pictures, BBC2, 9pm

Alexander McQueen (right) rose from humble roots to become a star of the fashion world before his untimely death and little is truly known about this publicity-shy maverick. This remarkable documentar­y throws a unique lens onto an extraordin­ary life by focusing on ten defining pictures – from iconic portraits to private snaps – with intimate stories and secrets revealed by those who were there and those who knew McQueen’s story best.
